People tend to look for inspiration beyond their work circle , effortlessly overlooking the objects and circumstances around them where the probability to find inspiration is more.Well, our story is no different and later when we realized, we were laughing at ourselves and making fun.The four of us namely Aman (CEO), Debopam (CMO), Paras (CTO) and myself Sagnik (CFO) had the urge to do something big, something which others dream of. But find it hard to achieve. Many wear out before even edging close to their definition of success and end up following the trend. Whereas we wanted to set up a trend. The kind of life we were leading was perfectly fine, but it was not satisfactory. Somewhat the secret ingredient to a tasty broth was missing. WE knew that if we had to do something, the time is right now. Because there was a sea of opportunity, we had the endless flow of energy within us and lastly as the saying goes "There's never a wrong time to do a right thing".Like every story of a Hero has a villain associated with it, every code has an error in it, we too had a hurdle right at twelve o'clock of us, a crisis. We simply did not have the "What". What to start with, What to do and countless such whats but the answer to them was still being searched. It was the missing link between our WHY and HOW for our WHY was clear and the HOW would be clear once the WHAT is evident. On a regular evening, the four of us were having chai sutta at Tikka, IIT Kharagpur when a friend of ours came rushing in ,frowning like he had a fight. We thought that he had another break-up for which he was well known . But the reason was completely different. He had ordered t-shirts in bulk for his department from a company which had charged quite a hefty amount from them, but the quality of the t-shirts were not up to the mark, rather very low. On top of that, his friends were angry as he was the one who suggested them to go for that company and now he was being blamed. Quite obvious. That is a problem, a serious problem. You suggest something which turns out to be an absolute crap and you are frowned upon by everyone and all you can do is switch off you cell phone and pretend to be okay. But you can't and you also cannot avoid the felling of being guilty.Amidst all of this drama, all of a sudden Aman came up with a brilliant idea to solve this problem. Let's say "He attained Enlightenment". Jokes apart, his next words were "Why don't we start our own firm so that the students can get good quality t-shirts at a pocket friendly rate?" All of us agreed to this, but engineers ending up owning a merchandise company would be a Fish out of Water kind of a scenario. One of us hesitated to accept this, as it was a bit awkward for him. Later on he agreed, rather he was persuaded by the others.First of all, you need to have a website for the store as its the online age and finding an easy yet catchy name was a big challenge. Even if we had one, that domain was already taken by someone else. After a lot of fighting and choosing finally we came up with the name TEESHOOD and bingo!! it was available. Paras, our CTO, began working with the website and the rest of us, namely Aman, Debopam and Sagnik managed the publicity, marketing and finance. A facebook page was created and we started inviting people for likes. Slowly the name TEESHOOD began to spread and we started receiving small orders from colleges, societies, clubs, departments, etc. TEESHOOD had begun officially. The best part of this is we are receiving orders from all the IITs and NITs which is acting as an impetus for our branding. This is all because we had a situation in front of us, and we refused to whine and give up. Instead we worked resolutely and without expectations. So if you are in a crisis, congrats, this is going to be the defining period of your life. Just don't give up. And the people who are not, pray for it, because then you'll be able to show the true metal you're made of.
